Pakistan is a country that is lucky enough to be enriched with numerous natural resources. Natural resources are a blessing of God towards the country. Some of the natural resources that the country possess are coal, gas, gemstones, copper and gold reserves oil, iron, titanium and aluminium. These resources play a vital part in making an economy strong.Coal is one of the natural resources that is referred as Black gold and Pakistan is one country that is blessed to have lots of coal reserves. The major coal producing areas in Pakistan are located in Baluchistan and inner parts of Sindh. Lakhra, Sonda, Thatta, Jherruck and Thar are known to be the major coal producing areas in Pakistan.Potohar region is another place which is providing oil to its people. Although Pakistan is importing oil from other countries like Saudi Arab to fulfil its oil requirements but Pakistan has the potential to fulfil all its oil requirements all by itself. But the only hurdle is the lack of finances. Pakistan is one of the largest Gas and coal producing countries in the world. Now we are going to discuss the details of the natural resources that Pakistan is producing.Coal:Pakistan is one of the largest coal producing countries. Recently the government discovered one low and four low-to-medium quality coal seams in the Punjab. In the regions of Baluchistan and Islamabad, low sulphur coal was discovered. Bituminous, sub-bituminous, and lignite coal can also be found in Pakistan. As mentioned above Pakistan is one of the largest coal producing countries and it is estimated that 175 billion tonnes of coal are currently residing in Pakistan. If we equate it to crude oil than 618 billion barrels of crude oil will be extracted.   When compared to oil reserves his is more than twice the amount of the top four countries.Oil and Gas:Pakistan is using natural gas to fulfil its requirements. Pakistan has huge resources of natural gas. The estimated reserves of natural gas in Pakistan touch up to 900 billion cubic metres. The gas fields are expected to last for another 20 years. The Sui gas is the largest gas been produced in Pakistan. It takes 26% of the total gas produced in Pakistan. Pakistan’s daily production is around 20 million cubic metres. There are still numerous untouched oil and gas reserves in the barren mountains of Baluchistan and the sands of Sindh.Other Minerals:Pakistan has also taken the lead in producing other natural resources like gold, copper and a lot more. Saindak is a place where you could find the largest gold and copper reserves. The Potohar plateau is enriched with rock salt. Other minerals that Pakistan is enriched with include reserves of gypsum, limestone, chromite, iron ore, rock salt, silver, precious stones, gems, marbles, tiles, sulphur, fire clay, and silica sand.
