It was enlarged later. Finally this became the official Royal Palace of the British Monarch on the accession of Queen Victoria in 1837. She was the first monarch to reside at Buckingham Palace.

I was really lucky as I was able to visit Buckingham Palace recently. I was dreaming to visit this lovely palace from my childhood. It’s really an awesome place. I personally believe it was one of the most beautiful palaces which I have seen. The feeling I felt in front of the Buckingham palace cannot be explained in words. The Royal look of Buckingham Palace cannot be found anywhere else in this world as it is specific only to this lovely Palace.
